Being in an isolated and totally natural spot, la Piedra del Molino is the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. The house is in a valley next to the Sorbe River, surrounded by mountains and pine tree woods. It is pretty common to run across different animals which range from cows and ships, to wild boars, foxes, roe deers, rabits,  martens, vultures and eagles, among others. La Piedra del Molino is located in a truly ideal place for bird lovers since there is a great variety of birds and birds of prey which can be easily seen. 

Different types of activities can be done during the different times of the year. 

The mill is located in an area of woods and mountains and the fall is ideal to go and pick mushrooms. During the whole year it is possible to visit the Natural Park Hayedo de Tejera Negra, but it is particularly attractive during the autumn when all the trees turn yellow, orange and red. 

During the winter it is possible to go skiing at La Pinilla Station, which is located approximately 40 km from the mill. 

In the summer time, it is great to go swimming in the nearby rivers and natural pools formed by the black rocks of the Lillas river. The property where the house is located is at the border of the Sorbe River and there are some natural pools formed by the same river just a few minutes ago walking from the house.  

The surroundings are perfect to practice trekking and mountain biking and there are a number of very attractive routes which can be explored all year round.

Another possibility is to take day trips to go visit the so called ¨Black Architecture Towns¨ in the Ocejón mountain chain. This type of architecture uses black rock as the basic material for walls and roofs in all kinds of buildings including houses, public buildings, streets and animal pens. Some of the best known towns nearby are Valverde de los Arroyos, Campillo de la Rana and Umbralejo. This last town currently functions as a farm school.

Very near La Piedra del Molino there are other towns like Campisábalos, Santa Coloma de Albendiego and Villacadima which are some of the most important representatives in the area of the rural romantic style. Other sites of interest are the middle age towns of Atienza and Ayllón which have a number of castles, plazas and churches which is worth visiting.
