THE REGION
La Piedra del Molino
is located 3 kilometres away from Galve de
Sorbe, in the Northern Mountain Chain of Guadalajara, but very close to the
border with the Soria province.
El Mill is located at an altitude of 1.300 meters, very close of the point where the Sorbe River is born and in the middle of pine woods. It is right in the spot where the¨Black Architecture Towns¨ finish and the towns of grey limestone start. Only at 15 kilometers and already in the Soria province, the towns of red limestone can be found.
La Piedra del Molino is half way between the towns of Galve de Sorbe and Cantalojas. At
he entry of Galve the Sorbe, there is the Estúñiga
Casttle, a historical building from the XV century which is currently abandoned.
Within the municipal territory of Cantalojas, there is the Natural Park
Hayedo de Tejera Negra, one of the greatest natural reserves of the region. The
park covers 1900 hectares and is located within the Ayllón mountain chain and is
well known for its beauty, wonderful landscape and great botanic and animal
interest.
