HISTORY
The building where the house is located is an old water mill where the people from the nearby towns used to come with their mules carrying the grain for grinding. During those times, it used to be called Molino del Cubo due to the shape of the water fall compartment.
The exact date of construction is not known with certainty but we estimate
that it was built during the second half of the XVIII
Century. More than a century ago, a family who still lives in Galve de Sorbe,
bought the Mill and in 1981 they sold it to a young man from Madrid who
transformed it into a Trout farm. The place was ideal for this activity due to
its proximity to the river and the quality of its water. The Trout farm was
active until 1988 and some years later the property was again put out for sale.
In 1999 my wife and I came to live in Spain and after some time here we decided that we wanted to stay here indefinitely and open a small hotel (Casa Rural) in the country side. We started the search for the place and got to see many houses, farms and plots until we finally found our Mill. From the very first moment we saw it we knew it was exactly what we wanted. That is how we bought it in 2000 and we started with the restoration works which finished in 2005.
